Campaign Story

“We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28

Hello! My name is Kristen and myself, my husband Bo, and our beautiful 6 year old daughter Charli are on a beautiful journey to grow our family. I am 32 years old (soon to be 33 in April) and have been battling quite a long list of infertility issues for well over a decade now. At just 18 years old I was officially diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. From the year 2011 up to 2023, I have had 9 surgeries in total on my reproductive system to remove cysts, clear blockages/scar tissue, stop internal bleeding, check for ovarian torsion, and various other issues. One of these surgeries in 2016 unfortunately resulted in an internal hemorrhage where I completely lost my left ovary and tube. Having PCOS and hormonal imbalance in itself already causes a woman’s ability to conceive naturally to be under a 5% chance in any given natural cycle. But after I lost my left ovary, whatever little chances I already had to naturally get pregnant were then cut in half. We began trying for our first child nearly immediately after I lost my left ovary, and along the way I suffered miscarriages and battled depression as I struggled to find joy in a time that felt so uncertain and dark. Finally, after years of prayer and trusting that God had a plan for us, I conceived our little girl. My pregnancy with her was a long battle in and of itself. I had to start hormone medications immediately for my body to be able to stay pregnant with her and I unfortunately dealt with placenta previa and symphysis-pubis dysfunction along with having to stop pre-term labor two times. Finally, after what felt like a lifetime of waiting, we made it to May 28, 2018 when our beautiful, brilliant miracle girl was born. We had hopes to try again as soon as my body was able to since I only have one ovary remaining that I am constantly in fear of losing, but as fate would have it, from just a few short months after Charli was born I was rushed into yet another ovarian surgery.

Fast forward to this year, 2025. We have now been trying for our miracle baby #2 for over 5 years now. I have had 3 more surgeries since our daughter was born, and we just completed a full panel of fertility testing to see if we can pin point why my body isn’t getting pregnant at all anymore. We found out that unfortunately my thyroid testing shows that I likely have an auto-immune disease along with several other factors working against me this go round on top of the PCOS and only having one ovary remaining. It would seem that we have reached a point where our only hope to expand our little family would be with IVF and more expensive fertility treatments. As most people know, IVF is a very extensive and expensive process that unfortunately our insurance will not cover. We are hoping to raise as much money as we can to help us navigate the heavy and daunting financial burden ahead of us. Our sweet little girl wants nothing more in this entire world than to be a big sister. We are so hopeful we are able to give that to her soon.

We have been told that we are running out of time with my reproductive health and if we plan to try and grow our little family, now is the time. We are praying for a miracle that only God is able to provide. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to hear our story and we hope to provide positive updates along the way!

Sincerely,
The Ross Family
Bo, Kristen and Charli
